Pocketbird app showing today's safe-to-spend

Safe to spend

The app opens on one honest number

Pocketbird turns your income, bills, and pace into a single number: what's safe to spend today without wrecking the month. It's the first thing on the Home tab, above the bills to set aside this week, the pace warning if you're running hot, and one insight worth reading. Don't want a card? Hide it — Home is yours to arrange.

Effortless capture

Nine ways to log — almost none of them typing

Paste a bank SMS from the major Thai banks, share in a PromptPay slip or receipt photo, tap a chip on a Home Screen widget, tell the chat, ask Siri in Thai, clear the day from one review sheet, or import a whole bank statement file. Turn on Slip Capture and the app even finds the slips already sitting in your photos. Every route ends the same way: a draft you tap to confirm — nothing saves until you do.

AI on your iPhone

A real money assistant that never phones home

Ask Pocketbird answers from your own ledger — it can look up your transactions, spending, accounts, pockets, debts, bills, budgets, people and trips, read a receipt or PDF you drop in, and draft an entry for you to confirm. The chat runs entirely on-device, so your questions never leave the phone. Prefer your own AI assistant? Connect it too: opt-in only, separate consent to write, revoke anytime.

Log what you paid, in the currency you paid it

Switch on "Paid in another currency", pick from 14 currencies and enter the rate you got — Pocketbird works out the baht once and remembers it was $20 at 36.5, so the figure still reads months later. A subscription priced in dollars tells you whether the price rose or the rate moved, a trip carries its own currency, a scanned foreign receipt opens with the rate field waiting, and you can filter your ledger by currency.

Privacy

Your money data never leaves your iPhone.

On-device AI

The bank messages you paste and the slips you scan are read and categorized by an AI model that runs entirely on your phone. Your messages are never uploaded — not to us, not to anyone.

Encrypted & yours

Your ledger lives in an encrypted store on your device and syncs privately across your own devices. We can't read it.

Know what's left

Catch charges before they land

Streaming, gym, insurance — Pocketbird spots repeats, warns you first, and flags a subscription whose real charges drifted from what you set.

Budgets that watch your pace

Per-category or whole-cycle limits — or let 50/30/20 draft one. Nudges before you overspend.

Calendar, cycle recap & outlook

See spending on a calendar, get a shareable recap every cycle, and a projection of where your money is heading.

Log it without typing

A streak worth keeping

Log something each day and the bird grows from egg to fledgling. Miss a whole day and it starts over — a slow morning doesn't count against you.

Nothing buried in a long list

Search accounts, trips, tags, rules and more — every long picker is a searchable list, every field remembers what you've typed, and long histories load a page at a time.

Siri, widgets & Control Center

12+ Home Screen widgets — including one that turns your usual expenses into one-tap buttons — Siri in Thai or English, and Spotlight search. Log without opening the app.

Money as life actually happens

Pockets & a debt-free date

Save into named pockets; follow a payoff plan that shows when you're debt-free.

Split bills & get paid back

Groups with who-owes-whom — shared bills, splits, and saving pockets.

Trips

Give a trip its own budget and currency, watch what's left to spend each day, and see what the whole trip really cost.

How it works

Up and running in three steps.

1

Create your private account in seconds with email or Apple. Everything stays encrypted and yours.

2

Set your payday

Tell Pocketbird your payday, add your first account, and start from what's in it today. Your budget follows your real pay cycle — not the calendar month.

3

Log, scan, or just ask

Paste a bank SMS, scan a slip, tap a widget chip, ask Siri — or just chat with Pocketbird to ask a question or add it for you. Home rebuilds your safe-to-spend number the instant you do.

Every amount the app shows has its satang

Most screens rounded to the baht, so ฿0.49 and ฿0 printed the same figure and nothing could be checked against a bank app that shows satang — and VoiceOver read the satang out loud anyway, on a screen that had hidden them. Every screen, every widget, the notifications and Siri's answers now print the full amount. Chart axis labels, the keypad you type an amount into, figures the app already hedges in words, and a widget tile too tight to hold the satang at the largest text sizes are left as they were, on purpose.

Three more things Shortcuts can do

Running one of your own Quick Log buttons, paying a card bill, and confirming what an estimated bill actually came to are all things the app does and Shortcuts had no verb for. Each one goes through the same code the screen uses, so a set still rounds up once and undoes in one go, and Siri quotes the same outstanding figure Home and the bill reminder do. A button that asks for the amount is refused rather than guessed at, and a fixed bill cannot be confirmed because it posts itself. None of the three answers to a spoken phrase — the ten Siri phrases are full — so they live in the Shortcuts app and in Settings' list.

A bill you have already paid stops asking for the money again

Home's "Set Aside This Week" and the morning bill reminder quoted a card's minimum and a debt's instalment flat, however much had already gone toward them — pay a card bill in full ten days early and both still asked for the whole figure on the due date. What you have paid toward that bill this cycle now comes off what is asked for, and the row drops out once nothing is left. Money split off a card bill onto its instalment contracts counts as payment too, not only a plain transfer. A bill already past its due date is deliberately left alone: a minimum typed off an old statement cannot be told apart from a real shortfall, and that arithmetic would invent someone who has defaulted.

Paying before the due date counts as paying

The evidence for an instalment was the money that arrived on or after its due date, so a loan debited on the 1st against a due day of the 20th had every payment filed to the month before, and was then asked for the current instalment all over again — months of "Overdue" on a loan that has never once been late. Each deadline now consumes one instalment and every payment since the previous deadline pays into it, so early money and late money both land on the instalment they were meant for. The Debts screen, Home, the widget and the weekly overdue notice all read that one count, and paying several months ahead still only buys one month of quiet.
